1925 Housecar Body $4000
Authentic 85 year old is a survivor!

Perhaps the only authentic and  largely original 1925 Housecar body ever offered for sale!

Priced at $4000 ......

Here is the history of this truly vintage survivor ......

We purchased a 1925 Chevrolet Housecar several years ago - it was in amazing condition and just about completely original.  We trailered it to the 2006 Tin Can Tourist Rally at Camp Dearborn and even drove it around the campground!

Realizing we did not have the means to adequately maintain this historical gem we sold it to the GM Heritage Museum in August of 2006 ......

Recently to our surprise we were contacted by an individual who had worked for the company which replicated the entire body from modern materials along with several embellishments for the GM Heritage Museum - he had saved the original 1925 Housecar body!

Our knowledge of the history combined with our past  documented ownership makes us uniquely qualified to authenticate this 1925 Housecar body ......

We believe this was hand made by a New Jersey cabinet maker or wood wright around 1925 and fitted to a new Chevrolet one ton truck chassis - it then made at least one trip to Florida before being retired - then it was displayed indoors at various automotive dealerships in New Jersey and possibly surrounding states for many years which accounts for its' remarkable condition!

This 1925 Housecar body was originally sheeted in masonite or a similar paper board material and about 20 years ago it was discovered partially covered outside with period furnishings and appointments still contained inside!

The new owners discovered the title quite by chance after purchasing it and it was taken to Florida - the father and son replaced the sheeting and roof covering and put in on covered display for may years until we purchased it ......

We believe the design - framework - flooring - cabinetry - windows all are original dating back 85 years!

This should fit nicely on a 1925 or other period Chevrolet truck chassis and likely a period Ford chassis with modification

Please realize this is a handmade and truly vintage 'one of a kind' original - because of this please contact us only if you have a serious interest in this 1925 Housecar currently located in Detroit, MI
